New Zealand the only unbeaten team

I watched the final in a spanish cultural centre...  and there was free
wine and big celebrations...

Earlier I was thinking of driving to holland, but the driver heard
that netherlands had alcohol-prohibition for the day, they decided
not to go.   Germans were mostly on the side of the dutch, many
wore orange shirts.   After the game all the spaniards came out
and we heard spanish talking all over town, and joined a large group
on the market-place...   then the streets became quiet quickly.
I guess germans thought of Monday work and weren't really happy
that spain won the cup.   Bad sports I thought.

I had a good time...  chose the right venue!!

Spain's victory in the World Cup final on Monday has left the All Whites with their own unique slice of history from the 2010 World Cup.

Ricki Herbert's squad are the only team of the 32 nations at the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals to not lose a match, having been unbeaten in their three group matches against Slovakia, Italy and Paraguay.

New Zealand arrived in South Africa ranked 78th in the world and were 1000-1 outsiders at the TAB to win the tournament.

While there have been several occasions where the champions have gone through the tournament unbeaten, the Oceania representatives join an exclusive club of only four other teams that have exited at the group stage with an unbeaten record.

New Zealand was also notable for the fewest number of passes by a team - with 663 passes, and the the lowest number of total shots by a team in the tournament - with only 15 shots

Winston Reid helped the All Whites grab their first ever point at a World Cup finals when his last-gasp stoppage time header found the back of the net to draw them level with Slovakia 1-1.

The goal was extra special for Reid who, having turned down the chance to play for Denmark, was a new addition to Ricki Herbert's side, and catapulted him to star status across the globe.
